Organized by Raising The Bar (MY) Creative Partner with The Tomoe It was a huge moment for us, visual enthusiast and bass community for SEVDALIZA to embrace our local stage, The Bee. It was definitely one of Kuala Lumpur 2018 highlights. Performing the hits like That Other Girl, Human, Marilyn Monroe, Amandine Insensible and many more plus 1 encore throughout the 1 hour and 15 minutes show. The show was definitely amazing in terms of how the soundsystem engineered, performanceship, her appearance, her dance, the drummers and keyboardist precision, the lightings, the crowds, and everything - it was a perfect night, one of the most best night for us and presumably for Raising The Bar crew as well. Opening up for the Sevdaliza was none other than our local finest breakthrough artists - Alextbh and Viktoria who strongly delivered the best amount of energy buildups all the way to the main act for the night. Thank you so much to Raising The Bar for making this happened. And certainly big ups to all yall who came and experienced the last stop of The Wanderess World Tour with us. SEVDALIZA is the alias of Sevda Alizadeh, a singer and songwriter who makes artful left-field pop that seems to draw from Portishead, Björk, and Velvet Rope-era Janet Jackson while remaining as contemporary as FKA twigs and the downcast aspects of Little Dragon. Born in Tehran and raised in Rotterdam, Alizadeh played basketball for the Dutch national youth team and earned a master's degree in communication before she opted to explore her artistic impulses. She debuted in 2014 with "Backseat Love," a single that anchored The Suspended Kid, the first of two four-track EPs released in 2015. A handful of tracks scattered across 2016 and early 2017 led to the album Ison. Like the EPs that preceded it, the full-length was issued through Alizadeh's Twisted Elegance label. Videographed by YasminKhai, photographed by Aidil Rizal. On the recent DCODE presents House Of 1A 2017, The Tomoe were invited to collaborate and co-organize one weekend of their 8-weekends event. Each of their weekends have its own theme and ours was "audiovisual & light installation" which featured Jun Ong light interactive artwork in the same room as well. Here's a recap of our recent projects with JUICE Magazine Malaysia. On 15th September 2015, we did 2 media arts projects for JUICE 13th Anniversary Party presented by Heineken. 1. The Tomoe did a project which generate visual through human motion detected by Xbox Kinect 360, programmed with Processing with Spout plug in, plug in to Resolume Arena which could detect sound as well and generate visuals from it. Video content made with Cinema 4D, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects. The theme is dedicated specially for the party's themed color ; pantone emerald-ish. 2. The Tomoe did a projection visual mapping works on top of a JUICE lettering sculpture, sized around 5ft length x 5inch width x 3ft height. Visual mapped with Resolume Arena. Visual content made with Cinema 4D, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects. Thank you to all those involved in this project especially The Tomoe team. Thanks to Alif, Euseng, Ian, Justin, Eryn, the DJs, the VJs, all the crew who made this party happened, and every guest who came down and party with us. Here's to another great year JUICE.
